About
On the mid-North Coast where the Pacific Ocean meets the bush, Wallingat National Park rewards exploration with varied forest and swamp landscapes. Whoota Whoota lookout is a must-visit for its views, while Sugar Creek's cabbage palms ring with birdsong — the park is home to around 200 bird species. A network of unsealed roads lets you discover the park by car (2WD in dry weather), mountain bike, or horseback. Camp at Wallingat River, picnic at Sugar Creek, fish the river and lake, swim when it's warm, and keep watch for kangaroos and wallabies.
